Wedding at Villa Blumenfisch at Berlin Wannsee

After having the pleasure of documenting Kristin and Timo’s civil ceremony at Villa Kogge in Berlin’s Charlottenburg registry office, we were excited to reunite with them for their beautiful outdoor wedding at the charming Villa Blumenfisch on the shores of Lake Wannsee.

With its historic architecture, elegant atmosphere, and stunning lakeside setting, Villa Blumenfisch is one of the most romantic wedding venues in Berlin. Blessed with warm September sunshine, Kristin and Timo exchanged their vows overlooking the sparkling waters of the Großer Wannsee.

Our wedding coverage began during the final moments of their getting ready, just before guests gathered in the garden for the ceremony. As everyone found their seats, we captured the thoughtful details before the celebration officially began. The ceremony space, located directly by the lake, offers breathtaking views across the water, with sailboats quietly passing in the background—an incredibly peaceful and romantic setting for saying “I do.”

An Outdoor Ceremony on the Shores of Lake Wannsee

As the music began, Timo waited beneath a beautifully decorated floral arch while Kristin walked down the steps of Villa Blumenfisch alongside her father. It was such a special moment.

The ceremony itself was deeply personal and emotional, accompanied by live music from the band Oh Brother. A close friend officiated the ceremony, and although the couple hadn’t originally planned to exchange personal vows, they spontaneously shared heartfelt promises with one another—leaving hardly a dry eye among their guests.

Instead of the traditional rice, flower petals, or confetti, Kristin and Timo handed out wedding wands and dried lavender for their recessional. As they walked back down the aisle, the air filled with the wonderful scent of lavender, creating a beautiful atmosphere while also being environmentally friendly.

The celebration continued with coffee and cake on the terrace before moving indoors later in the evening. Villa Blumenfisch offers countless beautiful backdrops for wedding portraits—from the elegant gardens and historic villa to the lakeshore and private pier. As the sun began to set, the golden light over Lake Wannsee created the perfect conditions for timeless, romantic photographs.
